Way of the Warrior Golf Outing A Huge Success

The Way of the Warrior Golf Outing, sponsored by the Dayton Christian
High School football program, raised $40,000 from its May 18

Ten percent of the funds, or about $4000, will go toward the DCS
Tuition Assistance Fund, and the remaining $36,000 will be used to grow a
player assistance fund to help cover expenses for those students who
would like to play football but can't afford to do so. In addition, the
money will be used to purchase equipment and provide training and
support for the staff.

Funds were raised through corporate sponsorships of the event (McAfee
Heating and Air Conditioning was the title sponsor), donations, and
registration fees, as well as from the proceeds of the silent auction
held at the banquet following the golf outing.

"I'm really grateful to all those who contributed their labor, their
influence, their finances, and their expertise to make this event a
success," said DCHS Football Coach Ken Moyer. "The proceeds from this
golf outing will provide much needed funds to help build the football
program and to provide financial assistance for students and football
players alike."

About seventy people took part in the event, including Cincinnati
Bengals runningback Cedric Peerman and former kicker Jim Breech.
