Stewart Took All Ohio Honors at State

Kevin Stewart, a junior at Emmanuel Christian, took his second trip to the State Cross Country Meet at Scioto Downs. His accomplishments during the regular season were remarkable as he placed in the top 5 at every cross country meet Emmanuel Christian attended. He won the Metro Buckeye Conference and was named “Player of the Year” for boys in cross country. At the District meet, he won the race with a solid sprint to the finish, and took 9th at Regionals in Troy to qualify for the State Meet.
On Saturday, November 6th, Kevin arrived ready to run with the best in Ohio that Division III had to offer. He had a great start that put him in the top pack of runners. Then through mile 1 and 2 he kept a steady pace. By the finish line stretch he was in the top 25 runners, and he held that position to claim All-Ohio Honors. His time of 16:21 was a new season PR for him. Kevin stated,”It felt good to run a PR at State, and I am happy with finishing in the top 25.” He is now considering joining the basketball team, and looking forward to Track.
