5 high school wrestling storylines you'll want to follow

1. Can Graham repeat? Not talking about winning their 11th straight state title, but the national level. It would take something miraculous to keep the Falcons from leaving Columbus with the big trophy, question is can they repeat as national champs?

2. New Coaches: Brian Carter takes over at Carlisle for Daryl Clark while Ty Morgan replaces Steve Goudy at Troy Christian. Carter, a former state champ, has a talented group returning. Morgan, also a former state champ, will have some reloading to do with the Eagles.

3. Who will win the Greater Western Ohio Conference? Springboro ran away with the one-day format last season, but Beavercreek, Fairmont, Northmont, Greenville, Piqua, Miamisburg, Centerville and Springboro will all be fighting for the top spot this time.

4. Freshman phenoms: Last season, freshman Bo Jordan claimed his first state title for Graham, Fairmont’s Matt Denlinger and Garrett Conner just missed and Troy Christian’s Jordan Marshall made it to state. Micah Jordan enters the Graham lineup as a freshman.

5. Ready, set, wait: For the second consecutive year, there has been a rule change involving the start of referee’s position. Now, the top man will mount and then the official will ask if they are set before starting action. The pause is hoped to prevent rolling starts.
