Southeastern Invitational


Xenia Christian girls’ track team takes second at Southeastern Invitational. Northeastern (Division II) won with 115 pts with a team of 40 girls. Xenia Christian Division III) finished with 109 pts. With a team of 11. “It has been truly amazing to see what God has been able to do with this small but very talented group of young ladies,” remarked Coach Robin Norman.
Loria Williams placed 2nd in both sets of hurdles, and joined Michaela Nelson, Courtney Bullard, and Kirsten Woodard on the 4X200m relay team for 2nd place. Nelson continued her sprint domination by winning the 100m, 200m and 400m dash. Nelson continues to be the time to beat for Division III in the state. Bethany Norman won the 1600m and the 3200m with solid times after a 2 month bout with a stress fracture. “The team is excited to have the third member of the “Triple Threat” back in action. Bethany is working hard and will be prepared for another run at the State this year.” Stated mom and coach Norman.
The team also has many other members who continue to add to the success, several of them new faces. Kirsten Woodard joined the team this year as a solid relay member, and sprinter in the 200m. Ellie Entner usually can be found on a volleyball court; however, she has joined the team to high jump and took 4th place on Saturday. Katie Kensinger, senior captain for the team, helped out by placing in the 100m dash and the long jump. “Great efforts were given by all the girls, and I was very proud of how everyone used their talents God blessed them with help them team win at Blanchester last week, and take 2nd this week at Southeastern. Next Thursday we travel to Troy Christian.” Commented Coach Norman.
