Karras sets Miami Valley Career Scoring Mark

Already having achieved 1,000 career points last season, Miami Valley senior Tia Karras wanted to focus on what comes natural, lighting up opposing defense.  Her transition layup against visiting Legacy Christian with 1:44 left in the third quarter pushed her past multiple-sport standout Angela Bethel as the Rams' all-time leading scorer.  Once she passed the magic mark, the game was stopped and she was acknowledged by an appreciative crowd.  She ended the game with a career  total of 1,572.  That puts her at No. 2 among current area players, trailing only Kenton Ridge senior Jamari McDavid (1,922)

Tia, the team's leading scorer (24.2),  ranks second to Middletown Christian's Aubriana Bellard (25.2) among conference scoring leaders.

That kind of scoring consistency enticed Ohio Wesleyan University to pair her up with older sister and freshman Elea Karras next season.
