Xenia Christian Girls Track Team takes Runner Up at the Metro Buckeye Conference.

The Ambassadors girls track team showed up ready to compete on Saturday, and they definitely didn’t disappoint the home crowd. “It has been many years since we have had a team with enough athletes to fill out all 16 track and field events.” commented Coach Preston. The field event athletes brought in some points for the Ambassadors. Ellie Entner tied the school record in high Jump and took 4th, Sarah Graver threw several personal records to place high in the standings for shot put and discus. Then in the running events Michaela Nelson gave the team 28pts with her finishes in the 100m, 200m, and 400m dashes. Loria Williams picked up 2nd in the 100m hurdles and 3rd in the 300m hurdles, while Bethany Norman secured her position of distance dominance as she won the 1600m and 3200m runs.
“The team couldn’t have done what they did without every girl giving all that they had. “ stated Coach Norman. The 4X800 relay (Courtney Bullard, Natalie Clauson, Carissa Riggle, Norman) took first place and dropped 30 sec off their best time. The 4X200 relay (Kirsten Woodard, Bullard, Williams, Nelson), the 4X100 relay (Katie Kensinger, Caitlin O’Guinn, Bullard, Woodard), and the 4X400 relay (Woodard, Bullard, Riggle, Williams) all took 2nd to Miami Valley. “The girls have been working really hard, but Miami Valley’s realy wins just edged us out. However, we are looking forward to the rechallenge at Districts this week,” concluded Coach Lance Nelson.
