Xenia Christian Takes Districts By Storm

The Xenia Christian girls track team brought home the Runner Up trophy in Districts for the 2nd year in a row. “The coaching staff, team, and student body in general, are all really excited about the results of the meet. A school our size does not often accomplish such a feat, and to do this two years in a row is amazing,” stated the athletic director, Nate Baker.
The Ambassadors qualified 9 events as a team to move on to Regional competition in Troy this week. Three relays are moving on: the 4X800 relay (Caitlin O’Guinn, Natalie Clauson, Carissa Riggle, Bethany Norman), the 4X200 relay (Loria Williams, Courtney Bullard, Kirsten Woodard, Michaela Nelson), and the 4X100 relay (Katie Kensinger, Riggle, O’Guinn, Woodard). In the individual events Williams will represent the Ambassadors in both the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles. Norman placed 1st in the 1600m, and Nelson placed 1st in the 100m, 200m, and 400m dashes. Michaela Nelson set a new District record in the 400m dash. “God has given us some incredible talent this year, and we the coaches have enjoyed preparing the girls for the challenge that Regionals will bring.” Stated coach Jim Preston. “We hope to move as many Xenia Christian girls as possible on to the State Meet this week.”
