Xenia Christian Opens The Cross Country Season Well


Xenia Christian Cross Country teams travelled to Greenville over the holiday weekend to compete in the Treaty Invitational. Both the Varsity Boy’s team and the Varsity Girl’s team ran well and placed 9th out of over 20 schools competing in the sultry heat. Coach Jim Preston stated, “The boys’ team is the strongest group of guys that have been together at Xenia Christian in a long time. I am expecting great things out of them this year.” The top seven runners were David Granduioller, Noah Dean, Haakon Nelson, Drew Riggle, Davis Weerheim, Casey Surls, and David Neikirk.
“The girls’ team is smaller this year as we graduated 5 seniors last year. However, they run together well and promise to finish strong at every meet.” commented Coach Robin Norman. The top runners for the Ambassador girls’ are Bethany Norman, Carrie Clauson, Caitlin O’Guinn, Sarah Kensinger, Natalie Clauson, and Morgan Phillips. Next weekend, the Xenia Christian teams will be hosting their competition at the Ambassador Classic at 9:00am.
