Xenia Christian Cross Country – Eaton Invitational

Saturday proved to be a fantastic day for great races. The weather was perfect and the Xenia Christian Cross Country teams delivered remarkable performances. “One of the best meets I have seen in my coaching years at Xenia Christian. Every Varsity runner set personal records today which is an outstanding accomplishment for our athletes. God has plans for this team, and we will see where He takes them.” Stated Coach Jim Preston.
The boys’ team placed 6th with the first six boys finishing in less than 19 minutes. Drew Riggle led the squad with a time of 18:04, and his teammates were; Noah Dean, Haakon Nelson, David Granduioller, Davis Weerheim, Evan Ramey, and David Neikirk.
For the girls’ team, Bethany Norman won the race with a time of 19:12. Her teammates Carrie Clauson, Sarah Kensinger, Natalie Clauson, Caitlin O’Guin, and Morgan Phillips all took minutes off their times. For their efforts the team took 3rd place out of 15 teams and brought home a team trophy. “This small team of 6 girls has an incredible amount of talent on it. They are all hard working athletes, and placing so high in such a big meet just gave them the confidence they have needed for the second half of their season.” Commented Coach Robin Norman.
Xenia Christian will be travelling to Versailles next weekend to take the challenge of the Tour De Sewer.
