Xenia Christian Leaves a Mark at the Centerville Stampede

The Ambassador’s girls team took the challenge of the Stampede in stride. Bethany Norman set a blistering pace from the gun and won the race with a season best time of 19:01. “I’ve been training hard all season, and it feels good to have it all come together today. I couldn’t have done it without the strength of God that He has placed within me.” Commented Bethany Norman. As a team the girls edged out Oakwood, a strong Division II team, for 3rd place, and brought home their third team trophy for the season. Top five girls were: Bethany Norman, Carrie Clauson, Sarah Kensinger, Caitlin O’Guin, and Natalie Clauson. Coach Robin Norman stated, “All of my girls have been putting in the time it takes to hit peak shape, and they are running really well. It has been an honor to coach this small team of 6 and watch how they have developed this season.”
The Xenia Christian boys’ team placed 8th in the field of Division II & III teams that raced at Centerville. Noah Dean ran a season best of 17:55 with the remainder of the top five being: Drew Riggle, Evan Ramey, Casey Surls, and Haakon Nelson. “The boys have continued to run as a tight pack all season. They have put the effort in at practice, and I believe everything will come together for them when it really counts.” Stated Coach Jim Preston
