ALEXANDER NAMED TO UNITED SOCCER COACHES ALL-REGION TEAM

12/08/2017

Last month junior Noah Alexander was named to the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association All State team. That honor was superseded this week by the announcement that the he was also named to the Soccer Coaches All Region team for the Great Lakes Region. Following Jake Grandson, (’17), he is only the second DC player in program history to win the honor.

Noah finished his junior campaign by setting school single-season and all-time records in multiple categories.  Noah is closing in on Mark Jackson’s (‘81) 36-year old record for career assists.  According to his coaches, Noah’s ability to win possession and direct the action in the midfield helped lead the Warriors to their number five ranking in the final state poll.

When asked, Noah was quick to recognize all the help he has received over the years.

“I’ve had so many great trainers like Brian (BK) Kohen and Matt Barnes.  On my Metro Rapids club team, I have really good teammates that push me every day. Two of them were also recognized on the All-Region team, Sean Dosedel (Carroll) and Dominic Ruffolo (Alter).”

“Here at DC, I have had guys to look up to, guys like my brothers (Christian ’12 and Joshua ’14) and Jake Erlandson who helped me to understand the importance of team and leadership. This year’s team was very special and we all wanted each other to be successful. Our winning our conference four years in a row for the seniors is a moment I will always remember.”

Head Coach Neil Craft says, “Noah is a fierce competitor and leads through service.  He is truly willing to play any role for his team to be successful.  His tenacity to win possession is special, and then he has the vision to distribute and start counters for us.  I’m really proud of his growth and because of the work he’s put in, he fully deserves this recognition.”

Congratulations, Noah!
