MBC Cross Country Conference

The on and off rain at Middletown didn’t stop the runners from giving their best efforts Friday night on the Middletown course. Kyle Klingler from Troy Christian won the boys’ race on a sprint to the finish in front of Emmanuel Christian’s Kevin Stewart. Bethany Norman from Xenia Christian won the girls’ race decisively. For the team standings in the boys: Emmanuel Christian won the conference title, Xenia Christian placed 2nd, and Troy Christian took 3rd. For the girls: Xenia Christian won for the third year in a row, and Yellow Springs took 2nd.
This upcoming week, all of the teams will be preparing for Districts next Saturday. It should be an exciting meet as once again Kyle Klingler and Kevin Stewart will challenge each other in Race A. Both runners are hoping to lead their teams to regionals. The Xenia Christian boys are in pursuit of their first regional berth in Race B. Bethany Norman will take on the field in Race A with the Xenia Christian girls team making a solid bid for regionals. Lois Miller and the Yellow Springs team will be battling for a regional slot out of Race B.
