DC Senior Jamie Schindler Places 6th in the State Diving Championships

Jamie Schindler recently completed her senior season of diving by finishing 6th in the 2012 Ohio State Diving Championships. This was Jamie's second year to place in the State finals.

Jamie trains year around at the Washington Township Recreation Center in Centerville and competes in both the 1 meter and 3 meter boards. Former all-American diver at USC, Patti Hickey, is her coach.

"I'd like to use this opportunity to thank everyone. Honestly, God has blessed me with so much. He has given me a supportive family and team and a very talented coach. I love diving, and the fact that God allowed me to perform my best in tournament, where it counted, is so awesome! I'd also like to thank Dayton Christian for allowing me the opportunity to dive, without our school's program there would be no team and none of my accomplishments would have been possible."

Jamie is hoping to continue her diving career in college and has narrowed her search to Univ. of Toledo, University of Akron, or Calvin college. For the past two summers she has enjoyed helping coach the young kids at Woodhaven Swim Club, and although Jamie is unsure of her major, she thinks she may want to pursue something in education or exercise science.
