Michaela Nelson Scores 1,000

01/02/2013

Michaela Nelson, a senior, reached the 1,000 point mark for her Xenia Christian Varsity career December 27th vs. Gahanna Christian School.  She scored 10 points in the game and became only the second girl to reach the milestone in Xenia Christian school history (the other was Mattie Hughes 2007).  There have also been two boys in XC history to reach the mark.  Michaela also leads the MetroBuckeye Conference in scoring for 2012-13 after 7 games.  She has lead her team in scoring all four years, averaging 9.8, 15.6, 21.6 and 16.4 each year.  Another noteworthy achievement is averaging a double-double for all four years with a 10.1 rebounding average.  Her career shooting percentages are 43% on twos, 31% on threes and 60% free throws.  Now as a senior she has stepped up in a new category and is currently leading the conference in blocked shots as well with 2.2 a game.  Michaela is undecided about her college future but is favoring a try at college Track & Field.
