Tanner Alley hired as Dayton Christian Girls Basketball Coach

Media Advisory: Tanner Alley hired as Dayton Christian Girls Basketball Coach
DAYTON, Ohio (June 11, 2020) – Dayton Christian School has found its next girls’ varsity basketball coach. Tanner Alley, the head assistant women’s basketball coach at NCAA Div. II Lincoln Memorial University (TN), has been hired to lead the Warriors girls’ basketball program. Alley brings two years collegiate coaching experience with significant knowledge in player development, direct scouting/game preparation, and off-season workouts.
“I am very excited to welcome Tanner to our coaching staff and the DC community,” said Ben Shroyer, athletic director at Dayton Christian. “Tanner impressed our search committee with his broad knowledge and coaching experience, energy, and vision for developing a Christ-centered girls’ basketball program. I know Tanner is eager to get started and committed to help our players reach their highest potential.”
Alley takes over a girls’ program that has seen development the past two years. The Warriors finished fourth in the competitive Metro Buckeye Conference this past winter. Kathy Hill resigned after the season, following a life changing event.
“I am thankful for the dedication and excellence in which Kathy exhibited within our girls’ basketball program the last two years,” Shroyer said. “I will miss working with her and know she left an eternal impact on our players.”
In the coming weeks, Alley will begin to fill his coaching staff, and meet with the players, parents, and community members. All current and prospective Dayton Christian girls’ basketball players should make plans to attend a Zoom informational meeting on Thursday, June 25 from 7 to 7:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to attend as well. Coach Alley will discuss his vision for the program, share an upcoming schedule, and answer questions.

“I would like to thank Mr. Shroyer, and the members of the search committee, for giving me the opportunity to lead the Girls Basketball program here at Dayton Christian,” Alley said. “My goal is to maximize our student’s abilities on the court, in the classroom, and in the community, around a God-centered foundation. I am excited to get started and to see what God has in store for the success of this program at every level.”
Alley will be relocating to Dayton this summer; enjoys golfing and is a Tennessee Volunteer fan.
