07/07/2013

COLUMBUS — During today’s Senate session, State Senator Chris Widener
(R- Springfield) recognized Wes Haney, a graduate of Emmanuel Christian Academy
in Springfield, for winning the Division III state title in the 800-meter run. Haney
– a consistent district and regional finalist – also ran with a personal-best
time of 1:53.74.

“Wes’
dedication goes beyond the track – besides being a state title runner, he is
also a talented musician and is in the process of recording a record with his
band,” Widener said. “He is another fine example of the talented
student-athletes here in the 10th Senate District, and I am pleased to be able
to honor his achievement in becoming state champion.”
